The Phoenix Suns surprised the world with their playoff run last season. However, ahead of training camp for the 2021-22 season, the Suns are dealing with a momentary setback with star guard Devin Booker entering health and safety protocols ahead of Monday's Media Day.

Here's the press release:

This news comes in the midst of NBA discussions about the COVID-19 vaccine and protocols for the upcoming season. Players aren't mandated to get the vaccine, but most of the players have received the shots. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium recently reported that around 90% of players have been vaccinated, though there are some high-profile holdouts that have caused a stir. It's unknown if Booker is vaccinated or not.

Regardless, this shouldn't have much of an impact on the regular season, but it's a bummer that the Suns star won't be at Media Day or the start of training camp. Phoenix is looking to follow up the incredible run to the NBA Finals with another big season, so Booker needs to be at his best and perhaps even take another leap.

The 24-year-old averaged 25.6 points in the 2020-21 regular season and increased that to 27.3 points per game in the playoffs during the incredible Phoenix run, which saw them fall just short against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals.
