Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker has been listed as out for Game 6 of their playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans, but that doesn't mean it couldn't change.

James Jones hinted as much in his recent interview with Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo. While the Suns GM noted that Booker is out as of Wednesday, his status can still change in the hours leading to the crucial showdown with the Pelicans on Thursday.

“Every day, every hour he feels better,” Jones said, via Arizona Sports. “But for right now, we’re going into tomorrow’s game expecting the guys that have been in the rotation and in uniform to take the court and play a very competitive game.”

“As of today, he is out. Tomorrow, I could probably have a better gauge when we get closer to game time if he is ready, but given where we are today he is out.”

The Suns exec is not guaranteeing anything. After all, the initial timeline on Devin Booker's injury is two to three weeks, and it might be risky for him to come back in an intense game where there is a ton of pressure physically and mentally.

However, Jones made it a point to emphasize that he won't be stopping Booker if he wants to suit up for Phoenix. For him, “if a guy is healthy and wants to play, he plays.”

The Suns won Game 5 behind a huge performance from Mikal Bridges. They now lead the series 3-2 with a good chance to things out on the road.

For what it's worth, Booker himself hyped up his return after Tuesday's win, reportedly telling the Pelicans bench “I'm back” after their victory.

Whether Booker plays or not remains to be seen, but the Suns will certainly love how things are going in his recovery and how they are trending as a team following the latest victory.
