Despite the much-talked-about 2-3 week hamstring strain recovery timeline, the Phoenix Suns could potentially be getting Devin Booker back sooner than anticipated.

The Suns star, who's missed games 3, 4, and 5 of the team's opening-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans still made his presence felt at Tuesday's game 5, even though he didn't suit up for action.

Head coach Monty Williams refuted the report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst, saying there “is no timeline” for Booker's return. According to eyewitness reports from the stands of game 5 at the Footprint Center in Downtown Phoenix, Booker may have a timeline in mind.

In true Booker fashion, he chirped at the Pelicans bench on his way off the court following the Suns 114-97 win. Multiple reports claim Booker yelled “I'm back” at the New Orleans players.

“Booker just walked off the court saying “I’m back”!!! Saw it with my own eyes!!” tweeted Jordan Simone, former Arizona State defensive back and current sports anchor for a local television station.

If reports are true and Booker did indeed declare his return, it would appear he's referring to Thursday's game 6 in New Orleans. Booker got shots up at shoot around prior to game 5, but Williams told reporters before the game that he didn't do much more than that.

Of course, Booker's comments could simply be trash talk. The Suns now hold a commanding 3-2 lead going into game 6, and the Suns would host a potential game 7. Keeping Booker off the court could be the safe move if Phoenix advances to a Western Conference semi-final matchup with the Utah Jazz or Dallas Mavericks.
