Phoenix Suns head coach Jay Triano will make some changes with his team in order to help point guards Tyler Ulis and Mike James be more efficient with the offense. The first order of business is getting his point guards off the ball.

“We're looking at some sets where they can be off the ball sometimes,” Triano told Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic. “I think what teams are doing now is they're hugging everybody else and making them have to make plays. It’s my responsibility to put them in situations where they’re off the ball and we have different ball handlers and they have to be ready to shoot it when they get it.”

James has proved decently reliable from range at 35 percent this season, but teams have been hounding the remaining players on the court, forcing him and Ulis to take scoring into their own hands.

This likely spells more ball-handling duties for phenom Devin Booker, who has already proved to be an improved playmaker this season, averaging a whisker short of four assists per game.

Triano will likely not abuse this with Booker as he's already responsible for handling the bulk of scoring, making this rather just a different view for the opposition and giving the two point guards a breather from initiating the offense.
