It's the offseason, but the Phoenix Suns can't avoid getting bad news.

According to reports, Suns forward Josh Jackson is wearing a soft cast and is walking on crutches after tweaking his foot. However, Phoenix general manager James Jones emphasized that the cast and crutches are only precautionary measures, suggesting that the injury is not serious.

Jackson is still expected to be ready before training camp begins.

Jackson, the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has been underwhelming over the past two years. Last season, he only averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 41.3 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 67.1 percent from the free-throw line.

There were rumors that the Suns have already given up on him, and that they attempted to trade him during the deadline, albeit to no avail.

At 22 years old, Jackson is still young and could still develop into a star. However, the Suns are running out of patience for him. It didn't help that he was recently arrested in a Florida music festival for resisting arrest and felony escape after trying to enter the VIP section of the event.

The Suns are expected to trade Jackson between this summer up to next year's deadline unless they see some sort of significant improvement.
