The 2023-24 NBA season officially kicked off on Tuesday. Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant got a chance to rekindle his days with the Golden State Warriors on the first day of the regular season. KD told the media after the game he has nothing but love for Dubs fans, per 957 The Game's Evan Giddings.

“It's always good to be recognized for the work you put in so it's exciting to see people I haven't seen in a while. Some familiar faces and I feel like the fan base here had nothing but love and respect for me as an individual player and as a person. That's all I can ask for,” Kevin Durant said.

Kevin Durant's memorable four-year stint with the Warriors

Durant spent the first 10 seasons of his NBA career with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder. He joined the Warriors in 2016 and remained with the organization for the next four seasons. Behind the exploits of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, the Warriors won back-to-back NBA titles in 2017 and 2018.

Durant squared off against the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James in those two memorable NBA Finals series. KD eventually won two straight NBA Finals MVP awards and earned two NBA championship rings with Golden State.

The Warriors teams of Kevin Durant's era were so good, Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George conceded they're the best he has ever faced.

“That is by far the toughest Warriors team. That team is up there for the best team that I've played,” Paul George quipped in May.

The Warriors reciprocated their love for Durant on Tuesday. They showed a tribute video that included his greatest highlights with Golden State prior to their game against the Suns.

The Suns' season-opening 108-104 win over the Warriors wasn't just an ordinary win for Kevin Durant. It was a special reunion with the team he helped win two NBA titles several years ago.
