With the Phoenix Suns winning the NBA Lottery selection on Tuesday night their choice seems to be down to two guys, Arizona Wildcat big man Deandre Ayton or Luka Doncic from Slovakia.

It appears that the Suns might have given a little hint with their new Twitter name after securing the number one pick.

Their new Twitter name is “Phoen1x Šuns” which could be a subtle hint of affinity to Doncic. If they did decide to go that way with the number one pick it wouldn't be a surprise to many.

New Suns coach Igor Kokoskov coached Doncic on the Slovenian National Team, and they won EuroBasket in 2017. When Kokoskov was asked about his former player, he raved about him.

“We call him wunderkind,” Kokoskov said via AZCentral.com. “He’s an upcoming, rising star. Luka is a very talented player. His ability to pass, that’s the hardest part of the game, the most difficult part to teach. To be a good passer you have to understand the game. It’s basketball IQ. He’s really unique and special at that age to understand the game well and to be a team player.

Not everyone wants Doncic to be the number one pick though. Josh Jackson, who represented the Suns at the draft lottery hopes they will go with DeAndre Ayton.

“I would like to see us get a big man, and I think the best big man in this draft is probably Deandre Ayton if you ask me,” said Jackson via USA Today.

Whichever way the Suns do decide to go, it doesn't seem like they can go really wrong. Both of these guys seem above the rest of the draft class, and both look like they will turn out to be good NBA players.
