Head coaches have been known to be experts in helping their players reach their full potential. That can also be said about Phoenix Suns’ Jay Triano, who has been very supportive of Devin Booker, and doing whatever it takes to prepare him for next month’s three-point shooting contest.

During their morning shootaround ahead of their game on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers, Triano and one of his assistant coaches played the role of human ball racks, similar to the ones used during the competition.

It may be one of the most creative ways to prepare a player for the event, but it simply goes to show that Devin Booker has the full support of his head coach. The Suns do not have an All-Star again this year as the 21-year-old shooting guard was not included on the list of reserves for the Western Conference. However, he will still have the chance to represent the Suns and the whole of Phoenix when he competes on All-Star Saturday.

The invitation of Booker to join the three-point contest may seem like a consolation prize for the “snub” he received, but it could be his opportunity to prove that he can win against some of the best shooters in the league today. The Kentucky alum can also become just the second winner of the event in franchise history after Quentin Richardson won it back in 2005. Whatever the result is though, one thing that’s certain is that Triano and the Suns' coaching staff, as well as the entire Suns' roster, will be rooting for Booker's success.
