Los Angeles Clippers feisty point guard Patrick Beverley was forced to take an early shower on Saturday, as he fouled out with more than six minutes remaining in the contest against the Phoenix Suns.

Beverley's trademark defense was on full display again on Saturday, but it is without question that Suns superstar Devin Booker emerged as the victor on the evening. As a matter of fact, Beverley's sixth and final foul was courtesy of an amazing fade-away and-1 play from Booker — something that the Suns bench absolutely loved.

Booker himself had some things to say following his make, and surely, this had a lot to do with Beverley jawing at him all night long. The Suns young star finished with a game-high 30 points (on 10-of-20 shooting), three three-pointers, six rebounds, and eight assists against Beverley and the Suns.

For his part, Beverley exited with 11 points, a three-pointer, seven rebounds, an assist, two steals, and a bruised ego. Nonetheless, this won't matter much to the tested veteran, as this is all just part of the type of game he plays. He is going to be an important player for the Clippers all season long, serving as one of the leaders of a team that will still be in search for its new identity.

As for the Suns, they have been outstanding to start the season. Not only did they upset one of the early favorites for the title on Saturday, but they also blew out the Sacramento Kings on opening night, 124-95. On Friday, they lost to another contender, the Denver Nuggets, but they certainly made Nikola Jokic and company work for the overtime victory.
