Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien is confident that quarterback Deshaun Watson will be just fine after taking a couple of hits in Week 1.

The most awkward hit was on a touchdown scramble where he flipped in the air and landed hard on his back. After the play, he was seen stretching his back and he didn't look super comfortable with the way his back was feeling.

O'Brien said the play was awkward but it's just normal bumps and bruises of football and he will be fine going forward.

“We ran that play on fourth down and he kind of got flipped in the air,” O'Brien said via the Houston Chronicle. “he just landed. It's nothing that's going to keep him out, just treatment, just normal bumps and bruises like every player in the game has.”

Watson took a ton of hits last year and this year the hope was that would change, especially after trading for Laremy Tunsil. In the first game, it was the same old protection as Watson was sacked six times and hit 11 times.

“Of course, that’s concerning,” offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson said. “We don’t ever want our quarterback to be touched at all. We just come back and fix what we got to fix and keep people up off him.”

Going forward Watson needs to be better protected or the bumps and bruises are going to turn into a major injury, and that is something the Texans can't afford if they want to make the playoffs.
