Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud is making a strong case not only for NFL Rookie of the Year honors, but 2023 NFL MVP as well. CJ Stroud had another monster game in the Texans' 30-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10. His performance sparked his MVP candidacy on social media.

“CJ Stroud has entered the MVP conversation,” tweeted ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Other NFL pundits weighed in on CJ Stroud's MVP-caliber season so far.

Stroud finished the game with 356 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Texans' win over the Bengals. He led a decisive game-winning drive in the waning moments.

The Texans moved the sticks 55 yards in six plays with Stroud under center. That drive ultimately resulted in Matt Ammendola's game-winning 38-yard field goal.

CJ Stroud has been playing lights-out football for the Texans

CJ Stroud has been proving he's a clutch quarterback. He's coming off an insane 470-yard, five-touchdown performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9.

In doing so, Stroud eclipsed Marc Bulger's single-game passing record for a rookie. The latter had 453 passing yards for the then-St. Louis Rams in 2002. Stroud's epic performance go the attention of Hall of Fame Houston Oilers quarterback Warren Moon.

Warren Moon wasn't the only big-name NFL personality who's been vouching for Stroud's MVP candidacy.

Another Hall of Famer, Denver Broncos legend Shannon Sharpe, weighed in on Stroud's MVP campaign following the win over Joe Burrow's Bengals in Week 10.

“CJ Stroud has played the best QB in the NFL this season. Yes, he's been that good and I said it. Go argue in a cave with your echo. Could become 1st rookie 2 win MVP since J. Brown in 1957,” Sharpe tweeted.

Shannon Sharpe was, of course, referring to Cleveland Browns legend Jim Brown. At this rate, CJ Stroud could duplicate his gaudy achievement.
