The Houston Texans are moving on from David Culley, as the franchise clearly believes there are better candidates available. Culley did a decent job considering how bad of shape the roster was in this year. Even so, the former head coach moves on and will be searching for a new coaching job elsewhere.

According to Aaron Wilson, David Culley finally responded to the Texans' decision to fire him. It wasn't harsh, it wasn't rude, but it was direct and to the point.

At the end of the day, Culley can't be that disappointed in the Texans, as he's walking away with $22 million after just a single year of work. Sign me up for that gig! All jokes aside, David Culley was likely looking forward to an offseason to develop and build up the roster. He led Houston to more wins than many expected, which is impressive for a rookie head coach.

For the Texans, they begin their search for a new coach and reportedly have Brian Flores in their sights. Whether that persuades Deshaun Watson to stay or not, nobody knows for sure. Regardless, Houston has plans to make some moves this offseason and isn't afraid to make tough decisions for the sake of the franchise

As for David Culley, his future is up in the air. He's not likely to be a head coaching candidate this year but should find a new home in the offseason. Maybe after a year or two, we'll see Culley back in the driver's seat for a different organization. One thing is for sure, he's not likely to work for the Texans ever again.
