The miracle season for the Houston Texans is now one step closer to completion. After missing the playoffs last season with the second-worst record in the league, the Texans are now on their way to the postseason. They clinched their spot in the dance after defeating the Indianapolis Colts in the final game of the season.

This win means a lot to the Texans franchise, as they've been through a lot of turmoil over the last few years. From the whole Deshaun Watson saga to the general struggles of a rebuilding team, seeing this young team overcome the odds has been amazing. It's not a surprise, then, when Hannah McNair, the wife of CEO Cal McNair, was emotional after the win, as seen in Will Kunkel's video. It's refreshing to see executives (or even relatives of executives) feel this strongly about their team.

An incredible Texans turnaround

Texans coach DeMeco Ryans had high praise for C.J. Stroud in his triumphant return vs. the Titans after his concussion.

Why wouldn't any Texans fan worth their salt be emotional after this game? The team has been, to be honest, completely terrible over the last couple of years. Houston sports in general has been a bit rocky over the last five or so years, with the exception of the Astros. The Texans have been dealing with futility in the last couple of years after Deshaun Watson's departure.

It seemed like the Texans' pain would continue after they missed out on the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, that pick turned out to be a blessing in disguise. With the second overall pick, they took QB CJ Stroud. Stroud ended up as the best quarterback in the class, even garnering some MVP noise earlier in the season.

Stroud's arrival was perfectly complemented by another first-year hire: head coach DeMeco Ryans. Ryans, who comes from the vaunted Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, has exceeded all expectations and then some, orchestrating the greatest comeback season in franchise history.

The Texans now have a chance to not only make the playoffs but host a playoff game for the first time in ages. A Jaguars loss would mean that they clinch the division. Regardless of the result of the playoff game, it's safe to say that this season is already a massive success for Houston. The question is: can they parlay this success to their future?
