Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens is coming off the heels of a splendid performance against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16. His girlfriend Simone Biles made sure they won't forget it anytime soon.
Biles cheered hard for Owens from the bleachers at NRG Stadium during the Texans' 41-29 victory over the Chargers. The superstar gymnast also had several posts on Instagram and Twitter to show her love for the 26-year-old Owens who notched his first career interception and also had a fumble recovery.
Apparently, Biles' support didn't stop there. According to Jaclyn Hendricks of the New York Post, Biles and Owens, who are together for two years now, also went on a date to celebrate. It was Biles' way of rewarding her boyfriend for achieving new milestones in his NFL career.
Owens was barely used during his first two years with the Texans. But this season, he's found a role in coach David Culley's game plan. So far, the undrafted standout from Missouri Western has definitely made the most out of the opportunity.
The 24-year-old Biles knows all about how hard work leads to success. The four-time Olympic gold medalist is arguably the greatest gymnast in history, and while she's struggled recently with her mental health, it's great to see her having lots of fun with Owens. For sure, the Texans youngster will get even more motivated.
The Texans will next face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
