Houston Texans rookie Derek Stingley Jr. has continued to take a tour of the city where he will at the least play in for the next four years. His next trip centered on a visit to Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros.

Stingley and new Texans offensive guard Kenyon Green threw out the first pitch ahead of the Astros’ home series opener against the Texas Rangers on Thursday. Texans head coach Lovie Smith was also in attendance to see Green throw to reliever Ryan Pressly and Stingley send out his ceremonial first pitch to outfielder Chas McCormick.

The Texans’ first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft hit their targets with ease.

Both Stingley and Green are just coming off of featuring at the Texans’ three-day rookie minicamp over the weekend. From running drills to on-field workouts, Houston’s coaching staff got a small glimpse of what will be to come from the two in the 2022 season.

For Stingley, he enters the campaign with plenty of high expectations after being the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft. He did note last month that he views the Texans as “the perfect situation for a corner,” which comes as he is slated to earn an opportunity to be a starter come Week 1.

For now, Stingley and Green are on par to feature in on-field action on May 23 for the start of the team’s OTA offseason workouts.
