Deshaun Watson's time in Houston may be coming to an end very soon. The fourth-year Texans quarterback out of Clemson has made it known that he no longer wants to be a Texan and wants to get traded.
A former teammate of Watson and safety for Denver Broncos now, Kareem Jackson, told TMZ Sports that Watson was interested in the Broncos as a potential trade destination. This is what Jackson had to say about his conversation with Watson.
âI had a couple of conversations with him,â Jackson said of Watson. âJust with him saying that Denver is a place that's he's interested in landing.â
One can't blame Jackson for trying to sway Watson's decision-making process, as any team would be lucky to have Watson leading their offense. This past season, Watson was first in the league in total yards, as he accumulated a grand total of 4,823 yards along with a career-high of 33 touchdowns. He has led the Texans to the playoffs in his second and third seasons and has proven to the NFL that he is as tough as they can get.
Jackson also told TMZ Sports that he believes that Watson has the ability to completely transform teams into championship-caliber teams:
âI mean, if Deshaun Watson goes anywhere, they are automatically contenders,â Jackson said. âIf he has pieces around him, he's an automatic contender.â
Maybe Watson will find those âpiecesâ in Denver. But, the Houston organization would first have to agree to anything before sending Watson on his merry way, and an enticing deal has to be made for Houston to even consider letting go of their star quarterback.
