The Ascent has problems running in its full capacity, but only if you got your copy through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Neon Giant's debut title The Ascent has been a fun game to play, and it's been hitting the sweet spots of many reviewers since its release. However, there's a bit of a problem when it comes to its graphics settings. While the game runs just fine when running from Steam, its DLSS and ray-tracing just won't work on the Xbox Game Pass version. This doesn't seem to be intentional, however, the game has been packaged may have affected the game's performance.

Diablo IV Is Headed To Xbox Game Pass

According to PC Gamer, even if you patch the game's files manually, DLSS and ray-tracing still won't work on the Xbox Game Pass version. This sometimes happens, but it's a very rare occurence. Hopefully, Neon Giant can patch this in a few weeks' time. However, it's not going to be an assurance, as it may have something to do with how the storefronts package their games. You'd know this if ever you looked around the game files of your games. You'd notice that the way your games are saved in your hard drive looks differently based on which storefront you bought the game. And for The Ascent, this had catastrophic consequences. In terms of graphical performance, at least.
