In possibly the most Tim Duncan-move ever, he decided to talk to one of his close friends Rashidi Clenance instead of a big television or radio network for his post-retirement interview on Wednesday. It appeared to be held in his kitchen.

Tim Duncan retired from his 19-year career, all with the San Antonio Spurs, on July 11th. Here are some of the best quotes from the nearly 90 minute long interview, which was exclusively held on Vivid Streaming.

Why the Big Fundamental decided to hang them up:

I can probably still play but when it’s time, it’s time. And it’s time.

I started not enjoying myself as much. It wasn’t fun as much. When it’s not fun anymore, I’m done.

Instead of watching tributes to his legacy, deciding to watch the Discovery Channel:

I didn't want to watch. Luckily, I’m not dying. I’m just living another chapter.

His quiet ambitiousness and passion for the game:

I've always approached it a different way. I'm not a yeller and a screamer and a jumper and a pusher. I'm not gonna do all that stuff with my teammates, but I've been competitive from day one, and it got to the point where I'm with my kids I have to think about it and turn it off. I have to let them win this one. It's in my nature. Whether people recognize it or not, I'm not gonna go out there and hurt someone, but if it's up in the air, I'm gonna try harder than you to get it done.

His great humanitarianism:

I don't think giving charitable donations is something you should be celebrated for, just something you should do.

And finally, in conclusion:

It's been fun. The next chapter will be fun, too, but I really enjoyed the ride, the cheers, the laughs, the highlights and lowlights, everything.
