During the most recent Pokemon Presents live stream, the Pokemon Company announced several new features in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. Both games are releasing on November 19 for the Nintendo Switch.

The New Features in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

These new features in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl include recreations of past mini-games. Pokemon Super Contests, dowsing mini-game, and secret base are all making a return. Additionally, you will now be able to customize your trainer's outfit and Poke Balls with stickers and different throw animations.

The Pokemon Grand Underground is a revamped version of the original Diamond and Pearl's Underground. It features a vast subterranean zone that covers the entire Sinnoh region. There, players can dig up valuable treasures and Pokemon fossils. This is also where players can create their Secret Base. Players can also go into the Grand Underground and dig for fossils with other Trainers.

Pokemon Hideaways is another of the new features in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as an upgrade to the original Secret Base mechanic. These features areas where Pokemon are visible on the field and walk around in the environment, similar to the way they do in Sword and Shield. Players can also get rare Pokemon to appear by mixing and matching statues in their Secret Base.

Another of the new features in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is Super Contest Shows. Here, four performers and their Pokemon can show off their performing skills. These are divided into five categories.

A Union Room will also allow players to battle and trade with other Trainers through local and online connections. Pokemon Home support will also come to both games sometime in 2022.
