After missing three months due to injury, the LA Clippers saw Paul George successfully return from his injury and deliver a monster performance against the Utah Jazz. However, it appeared to come at the expense of Marcus Morris, which didn't sit well with Ty Lue.

In the Clippers' three games before George's return and his first game back, Morris has averaged just 6.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 25.7 percent shooting. He also played just 21.1 minutes per game over that span with Ty Lue electing to sit him in favor of younger players during some blowout losses.

Paul George put up 34 points, six assists, and four steals on 10-of-20 shooting from the field, 6-of-9 from three, and 8-of-11 from the free throw line. While all eyes were on him, Lue admitted his substitution patterns may have taken Morris out of rhythm.

“Before Paul got back, there were games he got to his spot, he just didn't make shots,” Tyronn Lue when asked about Marcus Morris. “But, when Paul came back last game, I told him I gotta do a better job of keeping him in the flow of the rhythm of the game, which I didn't do. Everybody was excited to get PG back and see what he can do. And he played great. But still, we need Reggie and Marcus to also play well, as well. So just getting those two guys understanding how to play off PG, and also keeping Marcus involved more, 'cause Reggie has the ball in his hands more than Marcus does.”

In the Clippers' very next game against the Bulls, Marcus Morris appeared to find his rhythm again. Morris finished with 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. While they didn't come out victorious, it certainly was a positive sign to see guys find comfort in playing together again.

The Clippers played their final road game of the season on Friday night, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 153-119. The team now has just games remaining, all at home. Marcus Morris, Paul George, and the rest of the squad will have just over a week until the play-in tournament begins.

As it stands, the Clippers are likely to finish as the Western Conference's eighth seed. They'll likely play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the battle for the seventh seed, but there remains an outside chance that the Denver Nuggets or Utah Jazz drop into the play-in tournament spot as well.
