Kemba Walker of the Oklahoma City Thunder knows the Dallas Mavericks are coming off a disappointing first-round exit against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Mavs were up 2-0 in the series but were unable to close it out. Superstar guard Luka Doncic did everything he could, but he simply didn't have enough talent around him.
Doncic showed his stardom throughout the series against the Clippers. He averaged 35.7 points per game along with 7.9 rebounds and 10.3 assists. Doncic is one of the best players in the league, and the Mavericks could become a contender soon.
It all starts with the moves they make in the offseason. One of the struggles this year was not having another ball-handler. Doncic controlled the offense and was one of the only guys that could create their own shot.
A player the Mavs should trade for is Kemba Walker. The Thunder are in the midst of a rebuild and don't need Walker on their roster.

What would the Mavs look like with Walker?
The Mavs would be in a great position after making this move. Walker would fit well next to Doncic and would give the Mavs a great scoring option. He is a four-time All-Star but had a down year this season. Still, he averaged 19.3 points per game along with 4.9 assists.
He has also been a solid three-point shooter throughout his career. Walker has a career three-point percentage of 36 percent, which is above average. This trade doesn't give up too much and would help Doncic and the Mavs go deeper in the playoffs.
Mavs new direction
The Mavs have an interesting offseason ahead with so many changes happening. They hired a new coach in Jason Kidd and general manager in Nico Harrison. The franchise is heading in a new direction that will need to maximize Doncic's potential. Bringing in Walker will help them accomplish that as he complements Doncic well.
The Mavs will need to make other moves besides this to become a championship contender. Free agency will be key for them as the class is talented. They are rumored to be interested in superstar forward Kawhi Leonard, who is eligible to be a free agent if he declines his player option. A trio of Leonard, Doncic, and Walker would be tough for any team to stop.
