A new era for the Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off Tuesday, as team newcomers Carmelo Anthony and Paul George finally took to the floor wearing OKC uniforms in a preseason game against the Houston Rockets.

Sans Russell Westbrook, the Thunder lost to Houston, 104-97, but that’s not what people will remember of this game. Rather, it’s for being the first official NBA game in which the Thunder featured both Anthony and George. The two gunners announced their presence early in the game with Anthony draining a three for the Thunder’s first points of the ball game while Paul followed suit a little later with a layup.

Carmelo Anthony paced the Thunder with 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field and went 3-for-5 from long distance. Paul George had 15 points on 6-for-13 shooting.

Worth noting was the equal amount of shots for both players, but it’s still intriguing to see how many shots will the Thunder afford them once Westbrook is back in harness. The reigning MVP is currently nursing a knee injury.
