Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has faced some elite defenders over the years. He might have to add Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Lu Dort on that list after his performance against The King on Wednesday.

In the crucial juncture of their matchup at Staples Center, Dort threw everything but the kitchen sink in a bid to try and hold down the four-time NBA MVP. The 21-year-old forward successfully defended LeBron without fouling, forcing his shot to miss the rim completely in the overtime period.

As admirable as Dort's defensive job on LBJ was, the Thunder still came out on the losing end of a thrilling 114-113 result. Dort made LeBron work for every shot for the entire game, holding him to 9-of-20 shooting from the field and 3-of-9 from downtown. But the four-time NBA champion still finished with remarkable numbers of 25 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 41 minutes of play.

Dort, for his part, pitched in 17 points on 7-for-17 shooting, along with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 41 minutes as well. The Thunder dropped to 10-14 with the loss, while the Purple and Gold improved to 20-6.

For sure, LeBron James will remember Lu Dort's name from here on out.
