After the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Charlotte Hornets Thursday night on the road for their third-straight win, star small forward Paul George told reporters he's dealing with a left foot injury which he initially suffered during the preseason.
George, who re-signed with the Thunder in the offseason on a long-term contract, says he's suffering from a nagging nerve issue in his left foot.
Peroneal nerve palsy, to be exact, can cause numbness in the foot, or weakness of the ankles or feet. George has played through it, if that says anything: https://t.co/zAVBn0J2wN https://t.co/1bSlPZwVCL

Paul George entered Thursday averaging 25.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The five-time All-Star finished with 11 points versus the Hornets on Thursday on just 4-of-20 shooting overall. George did register 10 rebounds, four steals, three assists, and three blocks in 39 minutes of action.
Looks like this is going to be a pain tolerance thing for Paul George moving forward. Some nights, the pain might be worse than others. Hopefully, the Thunder doctors can maintain the ailment and prevent it from turning into a serious one.
George's long-term health is important for the Thunder. The franchise signed the star swingman to a $136.9 million maximum contract in July. If Paul George needs to sit out some games during the regular season to rest the foot, then so be it.
