Despite coming off a solid road trip, the Oklahoma City Thunder still find themselves wading below .500. As a result, the frustration has clearly started to mount following their recent loss to the New York Knicks without budding superstar Kristaps Porzingis.

Anthony recently attributed their struggles to the lack of clearly-defined roles on the team. However, Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady feels that their troubles thus far should be pinned on head coach Billy Donovan during an appearance on ESPN's The Jump:

“A lot of this is Billy Donovan’s fault,” McGrady said. “He has to implement a system for these guys—a strategy that works.

“Look how [Rockets head coach Mike] D’Antoni… if you look at how the Rockets play and how he [uses] Chris Paul and James Harden, they really don’t even play together that much and really until the fourth quarter. He has to figure a system out that works for these guys.”

The comparison from McGrady is fair considering the difference in how each team handled the acquisitions of such ball-dominant players. It goes without saying that the Houston Rockets have had much more success with their star-studded roster than the Thunder have.

The skill set of superstar point guard Chris Paul allowed him to fit in seamlessly with the Rockets' system. As of right now, it is safe to say that the Thunder are still in the early stages of figuring it out.

It is clear that the lackluster season is not only frustrating for the Thunder trio but even McGrady himself. He has even recently gone so far as to suggesting superstar forward Carmelo Anthony should come off the bench to try and shake things up.
