In a very light moment during the Oklahoma City Thunder's win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Steven Adams was seen hilariously leaning his body on Anthony Davis. It appears the 7-foot Adams has a soft spot for the Pelican big man.
Here is the video of Adams' surprisingly funny gesture via Streamable:
The Thunder, who lost Russell Westbrook to injury during the second half, found ways to carve out a six-point win behind the all-around game of superstar Paul George.
Davis, who has missed three of the Pelicans' first 10 games due to an elbow injury, was uncharacteristically inefficient throughout the game. He made just seven of his 20 shots and committed five turnovers while having a team-worst minus-18 plus-minus.
On the other hand, Steven Adams was a big part of the Thunder's gutty win. The big man from New Zealand finished with 18 points and eighth rebounds, but these numbers don't give enough emphasis on how efficient he was on the court. Contrary to Davis, Adams was a team-best plus-22 in plus-minus and shot 75 percent from the field.
It's also worth noting that Davis has not been his usual efficient self as of late. Before he sustained an elbow injury during a game against the Brooklyn Nets, the 25-year old superstar was averaging 30.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 3.3 blocks per game.
But since returning from that injury, Davis is only putting up 18.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.3 turnovers per game. On top of that, he is 18-of-49 in combined field goals during those three games.
Looking at his shooting woes, it could be safe to assume Anthony Davis is still feeling the effects of that elbow injury.
