Free agent guard/forward C.J. Williams has agree to a two-way deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Williams was a two-way player for the L.A. Clippers before getting his chance to crack the 15-man NBA roster due to the myriad of injuries the organization faced throughout the season.

The 28-year-old was waived by the Clippers over the weekend, leaving plenty of teams interested in acquiring the viable scorer, who shined during his few opportunities in Los Angeles.

Williams showed promise in the first year of the Clippers' G League team, posting 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals in 16 games with the team.

The North Carolina State product boasts a similar skillset to Gerald Henderson, both standing at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds and swiveling between the shooting guard and small forward positions.

Judging by coach Tom Thibodeau and his storied reputation for playing his veteran players, it's unlikely C.J. Williams would see very much time on the 15-man roster, unless an imminent injury calls for his presence.

Still, this will provide Minnesota with options moving forward. Two-way deals nearly always favor the franchise more so than the player, giving the Timberwolves plenty of flexibility for the upcoming season.
