Now that the Jimmy Butler trade drama is over, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose says head coach/president Tom Thibodeau has loosened up.

Thibodeau is one of the most demanding coaches in the NBA. He's always yelling. He stands the entire game. His practices are sometimes described as more intense than actual games.

However, now that the environment in Minnesota is positive with Butler gone, Rose says Thibodeau is getting away from his militant ways, at least for one day.

Derrick Rose has been around Tom Thibodeau a lot. The two were together with the Chicago Bulls for five seasons, and were reunited last season.

Thibodeau is an old-school guy. He's kind of the opposite of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr in the sense that his practices aren't loose and chill. Luol Deng, who is on the Timberwolves as well, once told reporters that during his first season with Thibodeau in Chicago, he almost passed out during a practice because it was so grueling. That forced Deng to get into better shape and it helped the veteran, as he made two All-Star teams with the Bulls.

It's rare to see Tom Thibodeau even smile or laugh. When he does, people are always shocked. There was a dark cloud hanging over the Timberwolves and Thibodeau during the Butler saga, but now it's over and done with. The team is 2-0 since trading Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers. Maybe this is the start of something new for both Thibodeau and the organization.
