Despite Jimmy Butler's recent trade demand, there were some reports that surfaced pertaining to the Minnesota Timberwolves' hesitation to move their want-away star. However, team owner Glen Taylor has made it abundantly clear that he wants the Timberwolves to trade Butler and move on from this saga at the soonest possible time.

NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski first reported on this new piece of information via Twitter, in which Woj stated that Taylor has given direct instructions to general manager Scott Layden and head coach/team president Tom Thibodeau to pull the trigger on a Butler trade.

For some reason, there appears to be a hint of unwillingness from Layden and Thibodeau to trade Butler despite the seemingly irreparable situation at hand. Then again, they may have been just playing it cool on the surface while they were quietly looking for a potential trade partner that was not going to take advantage of their position. If indeed that was the strategy the Minnesota front office had in mind, it has just completely been blown out of the water by Taylor.

It is understandable for anybody from the Timberwolves' camp to have the desire to get this issue over and done with swiftly. However, a team owner stepping in and overruling his management team, although not unprecedented, is definitely not an ideal situation for any organization.

As Woj has so aptly put it, this is truly a unique situation for the Timberwolves right now, without a clear, happy ending in sight in the immediate future.
