The story of the day was how Jimmy Butler showed up Wednesday at the Minnesota Timberwolves and went full Alonzo Harris on just about everybody. Butler’s flare-up sent people hopping on social media to give their takes, including Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague, who opted to use modern hieroglyphics instead of an easily understandable language to express his thoughts about one of the strangest events of the NBA offseason.

As implied, Teague did not make it easy for social media users to decipher what exactly he was trying to convey with that now-deleted Instagram post that came with a set of emojis.

But let’s give it a try.

Perhaps, Jeff Teague just wanted to convey that he’s finally seeing some form of resolution in this dragging saga between Minnesota and Butler. Butler has long made it known that he wants to get shipped, but the Timberwolves are seemingly having a difficult time finding not only a trade partner but a middle ground with which both sides are going to agree upon.

If anything, this tweet from Dane Moore of Zane Coverage, who was piggybacking on a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, could help shed some light on Teague’s social media reaction.

There are no reports about Butler having any issues with Teague, so it’s fair to assume that the latter would prefer that the former stays in Minnesota for at least one more season. Butler can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2018-19 NBA season by waiving his player option next summer.
