The Jimmy Butler-Minnesota Timberwolves saga is really starting to get spicy and now Jeff Teague is firing back at a report of a players only meeting from The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Charania reported that Butler called a players only meeting to air grievances with his teammates and let them know that he was going to compete with them until he gets traded. But Jeff Teague is calling out Charania's reporting and accusing the reporter of making up the story.

He doesn't get into any details about what may have gone on in the locker room. Teague does little to clarify what may or may not have happened. Wolves' assistant coach John Lucas III also tweeted at Charania asking what meeting he was talking about, further look like Charania may have been wrong.

One thing is certain. This is a major distraction for the Minnesota Timberwolves. On Wednesday, Teague and Tolliver discussed Jimmy Butler returning to the team. Teague mentioned that he wasn't distracted by anything going on around the team. He wasn't sure if anyone else on the team was distracted, but he talked about how there are constant distractions going on and the veterans learn to deal with it.

Of course, NBA players are dealing with constant distractions in and around the locker room, but this situation is quite different. If it really wasn't distracting the players, Teague wouldn't be firing off shots at Charania.

To make matters worse, there doesn't appear to be any end in sight. It's likely that this saga will continue into the regular season.
