Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Jimmy Butler is not on the team's injury report for Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, which means the four-time All-Star will likely play on Sunday, and then sit out Monday versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Butler hasn't been playing in back-to-backs this season. Point guard Derrick Rose is questionable with a sore left ankle, while Jeff Teague remains out with a left knee contusion.

Jimmy Butler requested a trade almost seven weeks ago. This saga has dragged on for too long and things have gotten uncomfortable in Minnesota. The longer Butler is on the team, the more distractions and dysfunction will follow.

In seven games this season, Jimmy Butler is averaging 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from the 3-point line and 82.1 percent from the charity stripe.

The Timberwolves are 4-5 on the season.

Butler missed the entire preseason while he was away from the team, so his conditioning isn't the best right now. The 29-year-old said Friday he will decide whether he plays in games or not.

“I let them know,” Butler said, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. “They don't know how my body feels. So if I'm nicked up, then you can count on that. I don't know. We'll see how it goes. I don't know what we plan on doing tomorrow. Obviously, I got to get some treatment along with a lot of other guys. But we'll see whenever Sunday and Monday gets here.”

So Jimmy Butler is the head coach and general manager of the Timberwolves now? He gets to decides when he plays and doesn't? Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has to be embarrassed with his team right now.
