Through his first two years in the league, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns has quickly emerged as one of the best and promising young talents.

Heading into his third year, Towns is expected to take another significant leap in his game to become a bonafide superstar. The 21-year-old took necessary steps over the summer toward continuing that progression as he revealed that he's been working on a particular offensive skill.

The addition of Dirk Nowitzki's fadeaway should make Towns that much more of a dangerous offensive force. He has already proven that he can score from a variety ways on the floor both in the low post and from the outside with the ability to create his own shot.

This could all set the stage for Towns to earn his first All-Star selection despite the Western Conference being stacked with much more talent than last season. Keep in mind; he's coming off an impressive second year where he put up career highs across the board averaging 25.1 points on 54.2 percent shooting from the field and 36.7 percent from beyond the arc with 12.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

With the series of major moves that the Timberwolves made this offseason, Towns could become the centerpiece of a powerhouse in the Western Conference that has the potential to challenge the Golden State Warriors over the next few seasons.
