Minnesota Timberwolves' star Karl-Anthony Towns discussed a number of different topics on Friday. He shared his thoughts on his extension as well as the Timberwolves' acquisition of Rudy Gobert. However, the superstar big man also gave a brutally honest assessment of budding star Anthony Edwards.

On ESPN's “NBA Today,” host Malika Andrews asked Towns what he believes Edwards' ceiling is.

“His ceiling is whatever he wants it to be,” Towns said. “I think the sky's the limit for him. His talent level speaks for itself. People questioned his jumper his first year in the NBA. Last year, he comes and has the best shooting splits of his career. He's just getting better.”

Karl-Anthony Towns firmly believes in his teammate. He continued discussing Edwards.

“I think with experience, he's understanding how to get to his spots easier, he's understanding double-teams. When you are that talented you should be expecting double-teams. And if they aren't triple-teaming you they aren't respecting you enough. He's on his way to greatness. I think the ceiling for him… there really isn't a ceiling.”

The Timberwolves enjoyed a successful 2021-2022 campaign. But with Anthony Edwards continuously improving, D'Angelo Russell still in the fold, and Towns and Gobert locking down the paint, this could be a fringe NBA Finals contender this season.

Towns believes this Timberwolves team is built for great things. Minnesota will have a long road with elite squads like the Warriors standing in their way. But ruling them out completely would be foolish. Expect Karl-Anthony Towns and Minnesota to have an even better 2022-2023 season.
