Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the brightest stars in the NBA and he can recognize and acknowledge when another player has game.
On a recent Twitch stream with Adin Ross, Towns was asked about his opinon of Russell Westbrook. While many are quick to criticize the Los Angeles Lakers guard, the Timberwolves mainstay made sure to give him the praise that he deserves while also throwing a small bit of shade.
“He definitely gets stats. He chases stats. I think he's a helluva player though. You know how hard it is to get a triple-double… and he plays hella hard. I just think that sometimes he plays too quick. He tries to do too much. Trust your teammates, move around a little bit. He's a helluva player bro,” The Timberwolves center said.
Towns definitely makes a point. It's extremely hard to get a triple-double and especially since Russ is only 6'3, it's even more impressive. He's a great passer, rebounder, and scorer. But, Westbrook does play at a very fast pace which translates into a lot of turnovers, especially this season in LA. His decision-making is certainly questionable at times as well.
Towns and the Timberwolves will actually face the Lakers on Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena in their first game of the new year. We'll see if Russ can drop a triple-double on KAT.
