The Minnesota Timberwolves have recently announced that they have shut down Derrick Rose, Robert Covington, and Jeff Teague for the remainder of the season due to injuries, and it looks like Karl Anthony-Towns might be the next one to sit out the team's remaining games.

It has been revealed that Towns has been playing through an injury over the past couple of games.

It is unclear as to when Towns sustained the injury, but the Timberwolves will definitely monitor his health closely moving forward.

Now, this is not an indication that the Wolves will indeed be shutting him down for whatever is left of their season, but since they won't be making the playoffs, it would be best if KAT is given some time to rest rather than let him play.

The former first overall pick has been one of the few bright spots for the Wolves this season. Unfortunately, his production didn't result in a lot of wins. They are 14th in the Western Conference standings with a 28-43 record.

Minnesota will once again look to revamp their roster this summer, with the hopes of surrounding Towns with enough talent for the team to become more competitive next season.

The Wolves have only made the playoffs once in KAT's four-year career.
