Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns has started the 2019-20 season off with a bang.

Towns is just the sixth player in NBA history to record at least 35 points and 10 rebounds in each of his first two games of a season.

The others are Wilt Chamberlain (three times), Karl Malone (two times), Elgin Baylor, Moses Malone and Anthony Davis:

In the Timberwolves' season opener against the Brooklyn Nets, Towns put up 36 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks, helping Minnesota defeat Brooklyn by a final score of 127-126.

Friday versus the Charlotte Hornets, Towns finished with 37 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. The Timberwolves defeated the Hornets, 121-99.

Towns made his second All-Star team last season. KAT averaged 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Timberwolves star recorded 54 double-doubles.

This season, Towns doesn't have to deal with any Jimmy Butler drama. He can just focus on playing basketball. So far, the former No. 1 overall pick looks like a man on a mission to prove the Timberwolves' doubters wrong. Most pundits don't believe Minnesota has enough talent to make the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference.

Towns appears well on his way to his third-straight All-Star appearance.
