The Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly fired head coach Tom Thibodeau after the team's big victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
Minnesota picked up the 108-86 victory, and it's obviously rare to see a coach get fired immediately after leading his team to such a big win.
However, that's the direction that the Timberwolves have decided to go in, according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
Minnesota has fired President and Coach Tom Thibodeau, league source tells ESPN.

Thibodeau joined the franchise back in 2016, where he led Minnesota to a 31-51 record before turning things around last season with a 47-35 record and a playoff appearance.
The Timberwolves currently sit at 19-21 on the season, which isn't exactly a record that screams that a team should fire its coach.
But it's clear that there have been issues between the two sides for a while now, so his firing may not be all that surprising in the grand scheme of things.
What may be a little interesting is where Minnesota could turn next, with Woj also revealing some information that could land former Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg in Minnesota.
Fred Hoiberg is a serious consideration of Minnesota owner Glen Taylor to become either the GM or head coach in the future, league sources tell ESPN. Hoiberg was an assistant GM in Minnesota prior to Iowa State. Scott Layden remains GM now.

Either way, this is certainly a wild situation going on in Minnesota, especially if Hoiberg is the eventual replacement.
As for the on-court action, the Timberwolves will get back on the court on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. After that, the team will get a few days off before returning to Minnesota for back-to-back home games against the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.
