The Minnesota Timberwolves may just have the best City Edition uniforms of any team this season. The Ringer posted a photo of the leaked Prince-inspired threads on Tuesday:

Prince, the legendary musician who recorded the all-time classic album Prince and songs such as “Purple Rain” (which was also the name of a movie he starred in), was a native of Minneapolis. He passed away in 2016 due to an accidental overdose.

However, though Prince is known for his flair and vocals, he's also known for his love of basketball and the Timberwolves.

He could be seen sitting courtside at a game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors in 2016. Prince threw a private party for the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx in October, after they won the 2015 WNBA Championship. Some people even know of the hilarious story told by comedian Charlie Murphy, who passed away in 2017. In that story, Prince dominated a pickup game that Murphy played in, with all of his typical flair and flamboyance.

No matter how you know Prince, the Timberwolves jerseys pay homage to a hometown legend. And they look pretty cool too!

As for the Timberwolves, they're off to a 2-2 start after all the Jimmy Butler drama of the offseason. Minnesota is 2-1 with Butler in the lineup after an impressive victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night. The four-time All-Star is putting up 25.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
