The Minnesota Timberwolves are going buck wild out there in free agency.

Not content with recent upgrades to the roster in Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague, the T-Wolves are now after a couple of veterans whom they think will significantly improve two of their biggest weaknesses a season ago.

In separate tweets by Darren Wolfson of KSTP Minneapolis and Mark Medina of L.A. Daily News, the Wolves are reportedly hunting for the pair of Nick Young and Gerald Green.

Both players appear to be decent targets for the Wolves, as Young and Green could address the team’s three-point shooting and bench production woes. Minnesota was last in the league last season in three-points made per game (7.3) and in bench scoring per contest (22.8).

Young averaged 13.2 points on 43.0 percent shooting from the floor (40.4 percent from beyond the arc) last season in 60 games for the Los Angeles Lakers. Swaggy P is a shameless outside gunner, who’ll often take ill-advised shots, but a coach like Tim Thibodeau could just be the right guy to apply more discipline to Young’s shot selection.

Green, on the other hand, has made a career out of being a sixth-man. He averaged just 5.6 points per game in 47 games last season for the Boston Celtics, but he’s an effective scorer when given the minutes. He scored 24.1 points per 100 possessions for Boston in the 2016-2017 campaign.
