We're back with another betting prediction and pick for the Western Conference Semi-Finals as we'll see yet another pivotal Game 5 for a series tied at 2-2. Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves will head back to the mile-high city to face the defending champion Denver NuggetsCheck out our NBA odds series for our Timberwolves-Nuggets Game 5 prediction and pick.

The Minnesota Timberwolves come into this game following two losses on their home court. After looking like world-beaters in the opening games in Denver, the series took a turn as the Timberwolves will now try to redeem themselves on the road. Anthony Edwards is coming in off a historic performance and he'll be determined to give his team the upper-hand once again.

The Denver Nuggets were able to bounce back and give the Timberwolves a taste of their own medicine in Games 3 and 4. Following a disastrous collapse in Denver during Game 3, both Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic once again proved why the defending champions can never be counted out of a series. They'll look to improbably turn this series to 3-2 in their favor.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread/Win

Despite the loss during their last game, Anthony Edwards set a franchise playoff record with his 44 points during Game 4. As a team, the Timberwolves shot under 40% from three and were completely outclassed by the Nuggets in terms of shot selection and game flow. Karl-Anthony Towns fell into foul trouble in the second half and with Nikola Jokic also playing with four fouls down the stretch, the Timberwolves couldn't do much to stop him from getting into the paint without Towns on the floor. They'll need a much more disciplined effort from both Towns and Gobert. Without the interior being controlled by Minnesota, it allows Nikola Jokic to do whatever he wants from the low blocks.

To win this game in Denver, the Timberwolves have to come out with the same killer attitude they had in Games 1 and 2. Anthony Edwards has been fearless in attacking the rim all series. He'll need to play with the same attitude coming back to Denver and given his directions after last game, he'd like his big men to stay out of foul trouble against Jokic. The Timberwolves have been the better rebounding team all series, so they'll need to figure out a way to stifle the Nuggets from shooting such high percentages from the field.

Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread/Win

The Denver Nuggets looked like true champions over the last two games and Nikola Jokic is determined to give his team a fighting chance after dropping 0-2 in the series. He was one assist away from a triple-double in Game 3 and he followed-up the performance with a 35-7-7 stat line in Game 4. Jamal Murray got off to an uncharacteristic start to the series and let his emotions get the best of him while going down in the series. Since heading back to Minnesota, he's scored 24 and 19, respectively, and has made some massive shots during tight moments of the game. If he can continue to play as hot as he has been, the Nuggets could win this series.

The Nuggets did a phenomenal job of working around Rudy Gobert and finding high-percentage looks around the rim. In Game 4, the Nuggets only attempted 15 free-throws and were still able to shoot 57% from the field. Minnesota has been one of the best defensive teams in the NBA all year, but Nikola Jokic has found a way to break them down with his floaters and passing from the post. Look for him to once again drive the momentum for the Nuggets as they look to get their whole team involved in the scoring efforts.

Final Timberwolves-Nuggets Prediction & Pick

This is a very interesting point of this series as neither team has been able to win on their home floor. After looking completely defeated following losses in Denver, the Nuggets seem to have gotten their mojo back and Jamal Murray is heating up for them at the perfect time. Nikola Jokic has been unstoppable on the low blocks over the last few games and with the Denver crowd behind them, they should get out to another hot start in this game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will have other plans and Anthony Edwards has been a man on a mission this postseason. He claims his team loves the trash talk coming their way and that they finally have a series on their hands, so this will be a big game to prove themselves and take back the lead in the series.

Ultimately, I think the Denver Nuggets will have too much momentum at home during this game and while Anthony Edwards will be doing everything in his power to get his team the win, his teammates don't seem to be playing up to his speed at some points. Unless Towns and Gobert can have perfect games in the interior, Denver should roll to a close win and take the lead here.
