The Tennessee Titans are set to host the Cincinnati Bengals, and Titans star Derrick Henry is set to return to the field in the AFC Divisional matchup. According to ESPN Titans reporter Turron Davenport, the only difference Henry notices in his return is the fact that there's a “big steel plate” in his foot.
This is great news for the Titans, who have been without Henry's dominant offense for the majority of the season.
Henry has been inactive for the Titans since their Halloween overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. The star running back was put on Injured Reserve the next day after suffering a foot fracture in the Week 8 win.
He had foot surgery on November 3 and was originally expected to miss six to ten weeks, meaning that Henry could have potentially been available for the end of the regular season. However, better late than never, and the Titans are more than happy to welcome him back just in time for their postseason run.
Henry practiced for the Titans on Tuesday and appeared to be a full participant, according to CBS Sports. He remains on the Injured Reserve, but does have a designation to return. Head coach Mike Vrabel is still cautious and said that the team would have to evaluate Henry's practices throughout the week to decide whether or not he will be available for this weekend.
