The Tennessee Titans will face the Indianapolis Colts in what is essentially a one-game playoff showdown next Sunday, and Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota's status is up in the air according to head coach Mike Vrabel.

Mariota exited his team's win against the Washington Redskins on Saturday with a stinger, sitting out the entire second half while Blaine Gabbert guided Tennessee to victory.

The good news is that the current issue isn't related to the arm problems Mariota dealt with earlier in the year. The bad news is that Vrabel doesn't know if Mariota will be able to go on Sunday, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk:

“We’ll see kinda where he’s at today,” Vrabel said.

Vrabel added that he wants to make sure Mariota is completely healthy and will confirm that Mariota can do “everything” the team asks of its quarterbacks before throwing him into the heat of battle this weekend.

This AFC South matchup became much bigger this past Sunday night when the New Orleans Saints defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, dropping the Steelers to 8-6-1. The Titans and Colts both own records of 9-6, meaning that whoever wins this upcoming game will punch their ticket to the playoffs.

Tennessee was just 5-6 after 11 games this season, but it has since reeled off four consecutive wins to insert itself right into the thick of the AFC Wild Card race.

The Titans are looking to make back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2008. Last year, Tennessee lost in the Divisional Round to the New England Patriots.
