As the NBA pros work really hard and prepare on their game with the season opener just right around the corner, it means only one thing for every avid rabid NBA GM enthusiast, the time for fantasy basketball is once again upon us. With each fantasy team stocking up on each position, we look at the cream of the crop for the very illustrious power forward position.

Before we come up with the distinguished list, let me point out that due to the modern NBA and the switchability of the positions there is a possibility that the players listed do not exclusively play power forward, but other positions as well. Recently injured players will be out of the discussion for the legitimacy of the pool.

Without further ado, here are the top 10 power forwards for your fantasy league.

Al Horford

10.Al Horford (PF, C)

If you are looking for a big that can complement your fantasy team with everything then look no further. The Boston Celtics' big man is a low turnover big that rebounds, scores, assists, blocks, and shoots the three-pointer with efficiency.

9. Tobias Harris (PF, SF)

Playing a great season with the Los Angeles Clippers last season is an understatement as he enters a contract year this season. Expect an uptick on his numbers as he scores in bunches while being efficient on field goals and three-pointers.

8. Julius Randle (PF, C)

In the scoring pecking order, he is the third or fourth option behind Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, and in some instances Nikola Mirotic. Although in talent, he is possibly a good number two behind Davis. Replacing DeMarcus Cousins in the roster, it puts him a position to be that near 20-10 per game player this season.

lamarcus aldridge

7. LaMarcus Aldridge (PF, C)

Heavy lifting, two words to describe what the All-star big man must do to make sure that the renowned San Antonio Spurs franchise still makes it to the postseason. A rise in his numbers is expected without Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard. The addition of DeMar DeRozan on the team will barely even affect his production this season.

6. Kevin Durant (PF, SF)

Despite the two Finals MVPs under his belt, it is hard to forget that the nine-time All-star is playing with three more All-stars on the team. It does not actually qualify as heavy lifting, but his numbers are good quality production nonetheless. There is a possibility that he could go beast mode in his contract season, although preserving him till the latter part of the season will mostly be the Golden State Warriors gameplan for the playoffs.

5. Kevin Love (PF, C)

The LeBron James-less Cleveland Cavaliers is a boon for Kevin Love owners. Being the focal point of everything signals the return of Minnesota Timberwolves mode Kevin Love. Definitely a lock for 20-10, he might even be deadlier than his younger years due to the wealth of efficiency and experience playing alongside James. Love fans are definitely excited.

4. Nikola Jokic (PF, C)

The Serbian Denver Nuggets big man is nightly near triple-double guy everytime he is on the court. Being the fulcrum on offense makes sure that his numbers and efficiency are on an all-time high. If you are looking for a power forward to build your fantasy around you can rarely go wrong with picking Jokic in the top five of the first round.

lebron james

3. LeBron James (PF, SF)

No list would be complete without arguably the best player on the planet. The new face of the Los Angeles Lakers franchise, James will be doing everything in his power on the court as his body permits it. Expect a lot of everything from him trying to anchor a former lottery team to the playoffs. With a pool of young talented pieces and solid veterans on their ragtag team, despite being remarkable production-wise already, he might go over and beyond his limits in goodwill to show that the Laker investment on him is just what they paid for.

2. Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF, SF)

Milwaukee Bucks positionless poster child Giannis Antetekounmpo is hard to peg in this league. Gifted with the physical tools to dominate there is no telling what this 23-year-old basketball savant can do. Although not even close to being a complete player with his lack of perimeter shooting, he makes it up with doing everything else in an elite or near elite level. With the tendency to be a nightly triple-double with the ball-handling responsibilities, it is good to note that he just gets better every season. As the new season approaches, it would be assumed that he would go beyond last year's production and possibly be in the running for season MVP.

1. Anthony Davis (PF, C)

Anthony Davis

The New Orleans Pelican franchise cornerstone is just a beast when healthy. He proved that last season he proved that in the midst of losing DeMarcus Cousins due to injury, Instead of rolling over and accepting a lackluster season once again, he took his game to another level and single-handedly brought his team to the playoffs as the sixth seed. Proving once again his dominance as a player, he led and dismantled the third-seeded Portland Trail Blazers in a four-game sweep. Unfortunately, the lack of team firepower and star power led to their demise in the Semifinals against the Warriors, losing in five games.

The five-time All-star can do it all, with the addition of getting premium stats from the block department. If somebody is a lock for MVP running when healthy, it would definitely be him. A near injury-free last season might be signs of increased durability. He will be a stat stuffer in any department, so if you are picking first in your league building around Davis is a no-brainer.
