This Saturday, June 15, 2024, UFC returns to the Apex in Las Vegas for UFC Vegas 93, headlined by a thrilling flyweight bout between Alex Perez and Tatsuro Taira. The event promises a night of high-octane action, featuring a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars.

In the main event, former flyweight title challenger Alex Perez faces Japan's Tatsuro Taira. Perez, known for his aggressive striking and grappling prowess, aims to build on his recent knockout victory over Matheus Nicolau. Taira, an undefeated prospect, looks to cement his status as a top contender with a win over a seasoned opponent like Perez.

The main card also features a flyweight bout between Asu Almabayev and Jose Johnson, and a bantamweight clash between Brady Hiestand and Garrett Armfield. Almabayev, a relentless wrestler, is favored to dominate Johnson, who is making his flyweight debut. Hiestand and Armfield promise an exciting bout, with Armfield's striking likely to be a key factor.

Featherweights Timmy Cuamba and Lucas Almeida will also square off on the main card. Cuamba, a dynamic striker, seeks his first UFC victory, while Almeida aims to snap a two-fight losing streak. In the bantamweight division, Douglas Silva de Andrade takes on Miles Johns. Silva de Andrade, despite being 38, continues to perform at a high level, while Johns looks to leverage his wrestling and power to secure a win.

Julia Polastri (+145) vs. Josefine Knutsson

Julia Polastri had the daunting task of taking on the towering Jasmine Jasudavicius on short notice in her first appearance on the Contender Series and ultimately dropped a tough decision. Since then Polastri has won four-straight fights most recently securing her contract on the Contender Series. Now, she will be taking on fellow Contender Series alumni Josefine Knutsson.

Polastri comes in with a boatload of experience as the PFL strawweight champion and 12 wins in 15 fights. She also brings finishing upside to this fight that her opponent doesn't with 7 of her 12 wins coming inside the distance. Polastri's ability to push a hard pace for 15 minutes and put relentless pressure on her opposition is going to come in handy this weekend against Knutsson who has shown to fade in fights down the stretch. If Polastri can make this a gritty mixed martial arts fight and not a technical kickboxing match she has what it takes to score the upset in this matchup and get her first UFC win.

Carli Judice (+141) vs. Gabriella Fernandes

As UFC Vegas 93 approaches, all eyes are on Carli Judice, who is set to make her highly anticipated UFC debut against Gabriella Fernandes. Judice, a rising star in the flyweight division, brings a unique blend of skills and attributes that could see her triumph over the more experienced Fernandes.

Judice's striking is one of her standout features. With a background in Muay Thai, she possesses sharp, precise striking and a diverse arsenal of kicks and elbows. Her ability to maintain distance and control the pace of the fight will be crucial against Fernandes, who is known for her aggressive style. Judice's striking accuracy and power could overwhelm Fernandes, who has shown vulnerabilities in her striking defense in past fights.

Judice's grappling skills add another layer to her game. Training under renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches, she has developed a formidable ground game. Her ability to transition smoothly between striking and grappling makes her a versatile threat. Fernandes, while competent on the ground, may struggle to match Judice's technical prowess and submission skills. Carli Judice's well-rounded skill set, striking precision, and grappling expertise position her as a formidable opponent for Gabriella Fernandes. Expect Judice to make a statement in her UFC debut at UFC Vegas 93.

Adam Fugitt (+100) vs. Josh Quinlan

Adam Fugitt punched his ticket to the UFC with a brutal first-round knockout over Solomon Renfro as a sizable underdog in LFA. However, those good times were short-lived once he got the call to the UFC as he is now just 1-2 in his last three fights as he was most recently finished by Mike Malott who submitted him via a guillotine choke in the second round. With his back against the wall, Fugitt will take on Quinlan in a do-or-die situation this weekend at the UFC Apex.

Fugitt while hasn't fared well in the UFC still has had his moments. He's fought a tough fight against two top prospects in the welterweight division before eventually being finished by both. He also had a dominating finish of Yusaku Kinoshita that honestly was one of the best performances of his career. Fugitt is an all-around fighter who has the knockout ability on the feet as well as the grappling to make this a gritty fight on the mat. While Fugitt can stand and trade with Quinlan he would be better suited to take the fight to the mat to make it easier on himself. If he can avoid getting into a brawl with Quinlan he has a chance at getting the win this weekend.
