Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic could be returning to Inter Milan this summer. The Croatian International signed for the North London club last summer, but his stint with Spurs could already be over.

According to the reports from FCInterNews, the newly-crowned Copa Italia winners had given Perisic a contract extension last summer. However, the veteran refused the offer and decided to follow his former Inter manager, Antonio Conte, to the Premier League.

During his Premier League tenure, things have not gone how he would have expected. Tottenham Hotspur haven’t qualified for Europe this season and sacked Conte in March after his outburst in the post-match press conference against Southampton.

Despite his horrible campaign with Tottenham Hotspur, Perisic did enjoy a wonderful World Cup with Croatia again, as they reached the semi-finals. The 2018 runner-ups lost to eventual champions Argentina in the last four.

Now, Perisic wants to return to Serie A. He could be joining Romelu Lukaku to make a return to Serie A after just one season in the Premier League. The 34-year-old has enjoyed seven glorious years at the San Siro. During that period, he also went on loan to Bayern Munich, where he won the treble.

If Perisic wants first-team football at Inter Milan, he should hope Robin Gosens gets sold this summer. The German has made the left-wing position his own at the club. However, he has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga this summer.

There could be a condition that Perisic’s return to his former club could only be possible if he accepts a salary reduction. The 2020 Champions League winner currently earns €6 million net per season at Tottenham Hotspur. However, this evaluation won’t align with Inter’s wage structure.
