The Minnesota Twins entered Wednesday's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers looking to get back in the winning column after losing the first game of the series to LA. However, the Twins received some concerning news that will not only impact their chances of winning Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, but also future series as well. Ahead of the Twins-Dodgers game, Minnesota received an injury update on outfielder Alex Kirilloff that should concern Minnesota fans with the team just five games into the 2022 MLB season. Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press has the latest.

Per Helfand and the Twins' Twitter account, outfielder Alex Kirilloff was placed on the 10-day injured list. It's especially concerning given that Kirilloff is experiencing inflammation in his right wrist, the same wrist he underwent season-ending surgery on last season.

Per Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, Kirilloff is set to receive imaging on the wrist on Wednesday. Baldelli said that he doesn't believe the injury occurred as a result of a swing, but that it's “something where the soreness has just returned.”

Kirilloff, 24, was ranked as the club's top prospect and the 23rd-ranked prospect in the major leagues. He posted an .869 OPS in 281 career minor league games.

The Twins called up outfielder Trevor Larnach to take Kirilloff's place on the roster, a move that occurred before the contest against the Dodgers.

Kirilloff's concerning wrist problems just aren't going away.
