Game developers always hope to keep secrets hidden as long as possible. Undoubtedly, Capcom intended their new character reveal to be on their terms but life doesn't always work as planned. However, this time, it's the result of a misstep of a third party that led to the early leak of Street Fighter V's final new character. Twitch promised an “exclusive look at the new character, Eleven.”

Combo-Breaker

One eagle-eyed Twitter user spotted the mistake in the email sent out by twitch. Twitch's confirms Eleven's status as the next character to be added to the SFV roster. The Capcom Street Fighter V roadmap points towards a release date sometime in Fall 2021. Eleven appeared in parts of Street Fighter V albeit as a non-playable character in the story of fighter, Urien.

Eleven, the pale shapeshifter, serves as a prototype of the character Twelve. Twelve appeared first in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Eleven caps off all incoming new content for Street Fighter V. Fans expect Capcom will move on to the development of the next entry in the series, Street Fighter 6.

Events unfolded outside of Capcom's control but at least fans know what to expect with updates down the line. The accidental leak will undoubtedly lead to stricter restrictions regarding secret game news. Developers definitely don't want irresponsible third parties revealing their fun secrets before they've had the chance to formulate the marketing plan. Eleven joins the SFV roster within the year alongside new characters Dan, Rose, Oro, and Akira Kazama.
