The UFC 261 card featured a rematch between former Middleweight champ Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall. Unfortunately, the bout lasted just seconds after Weidman suffered an absolutely gruesome injury and snapped his leg after delivering a leg kick to Hall.

If you can, watch the clip below, because it's truly one of the most horrendous injuries ever in sports. Warning, the clip is very graphic.

This is just insane. You can't write this stuff up. This is the exact same way that Anderson Silva suffered his gruesome leg injury in their fight eight years ago. Now Weidman suffers the exact same fate.

Uriah Hall was absolutely distraught over what transpired 17 seconds into their fight. He obviously wanted to exact revenge on Weidman for dealing him his first loss in the UFC 11 years ago. But certainly, the ever-so-classy Hall didn't want the match to go down this way.

As you can see in his post-fight interview via SportsCenter, the former Ultimate Fighter participant was on the verge of tears and wished all the best for Weidman and his family.

This is definitely super unfortunate for Weidman, who was just coming off a unanimous decision victory over Omari Akhmedov last August in his return to the middleweight division. He also had his sights set on Israel Adesanya, but obviously any of those plans would happen right now with a lengthy rehab on the way. Meanwhile, Hall just came off a victory over Anderson Silva last October and looked to have a good fight against Weidman.

Our heart goes out to Chris Weidman and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
