Ex-UFC star and reigning Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg admitted that the stigma of Joe Rogan’s remark several years ago is still there.

Back in 2015, famed UFC color commentator Joe Rogan crossed the line when he made harsh comments about Cris Cyborg which was intended to poke fun at her incredible physique and intimidating persona.

Roughly six years later, Cyborg revealed on Twitter that the said joke has never made her feel “comfortable” whenever Roga is around. Moreover, she also admitted that it has “added stress” to her as a professional athlete.

“After listening to [Joe Rogan] make jokes that I would be the first [UFC] fighter to cut off their penis to make a weight category I never felt comfortable with him as a commentator for my fights and knowing he was working an event of mine always added stress as an athlete,” Cyborg wrote.

It can be recalled that shortly after taking the heat because of his joke, Rogan apologized to Cyborg and explained that apart from being a natural comedian, he also had “a couple of drinks” that time.

“I shouldn't have said it, but it's what you say if you're hanging around with comedians, you know? It's what we do,” Rogan said in 2015 via MMA Mania. “Plus, I had a couple of drinks. It was just a dumb thing to do, and I certainly didn't mean it with any malice. I honestly didn't.”

“I didn't mean to start any static with her [Cyborg] or anything like that, so I hope she accepts my apology,” he added. “It's my fault and I take full responsibility.”
